Perfect day, a cooling breeze keeps up a steady flow of coffee drinkers whilst the ice cream seller nears the point of breakdown.
A full turn out here at the annual Leigh Food and Classic Car Festival…. a delightful event, brilliantly organised by Elizabeth Turnbull, with husband Julian and a team of helpers in able assistance. Always a last minute minor crisis or two to keep us on our toes, but an annual pleasure at the new, five star, Village Hall that was part funded by income from this event over the past eight years.
Good selection of mainly British classics, from the 1930’s right up to modern times, have made the trip. A couple of huge yanks, perfect pick-ups, a pretty Italian and a few beautiful bikes. Several familiar faces from previous years and a few newcomers who, perhaps, have been kept away in the past by summer rains.
The heat wave rolls back in as the afternoon progresses a touch of cloud, humidity rising… a good day to be selling Ice Cream!.
